Bruzón Places Eighth in Corus 2005
In the final round Bruzón drew with Ukranian GM Ruslan Ponomariov. The young chess player’s performance deserves praises, taking into account that he had the lowest ELO rating among thirteen other player.
Accumulating six points and a half, Bruzón shared the eighth place with R. Ponomariov and L. van Wely.
The first place was for Hungary’s GM Peter Leko with eight points and a half out of 13 possible points, whereas Indian GM Viswanathan Anand had to accept the second position.
