Ballet Version of "Romeo and Juliet" to Be Presented in Hava
According to experts, the choreography is based on Shakespeare's world famous tragedy, and will be danced by Octavio Martín, Laura Hormigón, Oscar Torrado, Viengsay Valdés and Bárbara García.
The dancers will perform at the open-air stage of the Old Square, whose surroundings were recently restored by the Office of Havana's Historian Eusebio Leal.
The choreography, first presented in Nave de Sagunto during the Second Biennial of Valencia, Spain, in 2003, was highly acclaimed by critics, due to its deep lyricism and excellent performances.
The Old Square is one of the most emblematic sites in Old Havana. It has a fountain of Carrara marble in the center, imitating the original fountain that existed in that place many years ago.
