Artists from 30 Countries at Digital Art Exhibit
Sponsored by the Pablo de la Torriente Cultural Center and the Dutch cultural collaboration agency Hivus, among other institutions, the event consists of contests in different categories, debates and lectures.
According to sources from the organizing committee, the meeting is aimed at promoting artistic and cultural values using new technologies, and raising debates and reflection among participants.
Artists from the United States, Mexico, Italy, Brazil, Chile, Romania and Venezuela, among other countries, will debate on language and poetics in digital art, making emphasis on video.
The exhibit "Compartiendo Sueños" (Sharing Dreams), a project carried out by 10 Cuban and US graphic designers based on personal drawings and photographs, is being held within the framework of the event.
The website on the event will display a sample of interactive and audiovisual works by 115 artists from 30 countries.
