The facility has performed 3,500 heart surgeries since it was founded 18 years ago.

Last year alone, 200 surgeries on patients suffering from cardiovascular ailments were performed at the center, despite the renovation works being carried out in the facility.

Center officials noted the high qualifications of the institution's personnel, who have greatly contributed to increasing the patients' survival rate.

However, the center's staff takes upgrade courses on anesthesiology, surgery and cardiology, among other medical specialties.

The center's main goal this year is to improve the quality of services to better treat cardiovascular ailments.
