The jury, made up of María Dolores Ortiz, Aymara Aymerich, Zaida Capote, Sergio Chaple, Jorge Domingo, Omar Felipe Mauri and Amado del Pino, granted six awards to books published by Editorial Letras Cubanas.

The award-winning books were "Las Tres Partes del Criollo", a play by Antón Arrufat; "Mañach o la República", an essay by Duanel Díaz; "Experiencia de la Crítica", an art criticism by Graziella Pogolotti, and "La Saga del Perseguido" a novel by Guillermo Vidal Ortiz, among other books.

Two awards went to books published by Ediciones Unión. They were "Otras Plegarias Atendidas", by Mylene Fernández, and "Canta", poems by Guillermo Rodríguez Rivera.

In addition, Editorial Oriente won two awards for "José María Heredia: La Utopía Restituida" an essay by Roberto Méndez, and "Brujas, Hechizos y Otros Disparates", children's stories by Nelson Simón.
